Nano Vacuum Pty Ltd, headed by James Carter, is a new venture based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. James is an experienced (20+ years) vacuum engineer, having served time at the VG group and KJ Lesker in the UK before making the move to Australia. More recently he was Division Manager for the John Morris Group, specialising in PVD, vacuum technology, and freeze drying.
Moorfield Chairman, Jon Whitehead, commented:
“When we heard that James was available as a potential partner within the Australia and New Zealand region it was clear that it was an opportunity. Moorfield’s product line is geared for value at the R&D level and James has both the contact base and technical knowledge to succeed in this competitive market”.

Nano Vacuum Director, James Carter commented:
“Moorfield Tools are well received throughout the UK and European region. Major institutes have standardised on their tools, including the Graphene centre at Manchester University. Their wide range of PVD, CVD and etch tools will complement the expanding research needs within the ANZ region”.

Initially, delivered systems will be backed up by installation engineering effort from the UK but the short-term aim is to train Nano Vacuum staff to undertake routine installation, service and support locally. Given James’ PVD installation and service background, this is expected to happen soon.
