kSA 400
k-Space have developed many
"Plug-In" options for the kSA 400 System. These
Plug-Ins are designed to give you additional acquisition
and analysis capabilities at a fraction of the cost of a
stand-alone product with the same capabilities.
|
| Phase-Locked Epitaxy (PLE) |
Custom Routines |
| Automates
the growth process by locking to RHEED oscillations and
controlling source shutters. A process table allows you
to configure your specific growth sequence. External
triggering allows for growth control with substrate
rotation. In the absence of RHEED oscillations, growth
can be time-controlled. |
For
maximum flexibility, users may write their own custom
routines using IDL™,
a powerful array-oriented programming language. With this
option, these routines are incorporated directly into the
kSA 400, yielding custom real-time and post-acquisition
processing and analysis. |
| LEED
I/V |
Analog Input Monitoring |
| The kSA
400 system works extremely well for LEED image
acquisition and analysis. In addition, we offer the
capability to acquire accurate LEED I/V curves by
implementing a 12-bit energy control board and LEED I/V
acquisition software. In this manner, automated I/V
curves may be acquired for detailed fitting and analysis. |
We offer
the capability to simultaneously acquire and display
analog input data from supported acquisition boards
during image acquisition. This can be useful, for
example, for recording thermocouple readings or quartz
crystal growth rate data during image acquisition. |
| Staib Instruments Electron Gun Control
|
Staib
Instruments Energy-Resolved RHEED (ER-RHEED) Control
|
| For users
with a Staib Instruments electron gun (EK-15R, EK-35R, or
EK-50R), we offer complete gun control through the kSA
400 system. By utilizing a 16-bit, 8 channel D/A board,
the user may control all parameters of the gun from the
computer, as well as ramp to preset settings, rock the
angle of incidence, and perform proper gun shutdown. The
RHEED pattern is displayed in real-time simultaneously
while the gun parameters are adjusted, facilitating fine
adjustment of the gun settings. In addition, real-time
analysis such as line profile and intensity analysis may
be performed while adjusting the gun settings. Automated
beam rocking curves are also easily obtained. |
In
cooperation with Staib Instruments, Inc., we offer
complete Energy-Resolved RHEED control and acquisition
for the Staib ER-RHEED system. For the ultimate in RHEED
analysis, this option allows the user to acquire RHEED
data as a function of retarding energy. In combination
with the automated beam rocking and gun control, this
option yields an extremely powerful diffraction analysis
tool. |
| Auger/XPS
Spectroscopy |
RHEED Screens
|
| For users
who have an Auger or XPS spectrometer, we offer the
option to acquire spectra through the kSA 400 system.
Using a 12-bit D/A and 16-bit A/D board, energy control
and accurate signal digitization provide the user with
spectra for analysis. Sampling rate, resolution, and
spectra averaging are some of the features offered with
this option. |
|
| Customisation |
| The
power of our kSA 400 system is in large part due to
implementing the ideas and suggestions of our customers.
We've made our software very modular, allowing for quick
insertion of custom modifications. And unless the
customization requires major software development, we'll
integrate the customization free of charge. In addition,
user-supplied routines written in IDL™ can be
incorporated into the kSA 400, yielding custom real-time
and post-acquisition processing and analysis. |
