The DAX15 is a dual anode X-Ray gun designed as a flood source
for X- ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It is simple to operate
and easy to retrofit to most surface analysis chambers or
preparation chambers in MBE for example.
The twin anode desin allows easy switching between two exitation
energies. The DAX15 is shipped with Mg and Al anode coatings but
others are available upon request including Zr, Ag, Ti and Si.
All coatings are deposited in our UHV evaporation system to
ensure the highest standards and reproducability. Copper
breakthrough and cross talk between anode faces is kept to a
minimum by good anode design and high quality anode coating.
The unit is user servicable and replacement of anode tips and
filaments is easily performed within one hour by a competent
laboratory technician.
The unit is powered and controlled by a neat 19 inch 3U rack
mount electronics module which houses both the HT and control
circuitry. Interlocks are provided for user saftey and ensure
vacuum integrity. Our sister product PC SURFACE can directly
interface to and control the DAX15 as part of an integrated XPS
experiment.
We recommend that the DAX15 be water cooled using a closed loop
chiller system, details of which are available from Moorfield
Sales Department.
